Director: Brian Ricks
A Music Education graduate from ISU, Brian has conducted and performed in school, church, and community ensembles since the age of 12. Most recently, he has performed in Lamb of God, an oratorio which served as an inspiration for this project. He also teaches private voice lessons and is qualified as a K-12 music instructor. “As the 3rd great‑grandson of rescuer Thomas E. Ricks, I feel a profound responsibility to honor the courage of the handcart pioneers through music that is both intimate and expansive, inviting performers and audiences into a shared journey of faith, resilience, and hope.”

Krista is a native Idahoan. She has loved music for as long as she can remember, and is excited to extend her education and obtain her degree in music education. She is also excited be a part of Handcarts of Faith, which is based on a subject also close to her heart. While she doesn’t have any relatives who were a part of the Willie or Martin handcart companies, she does have ancestors that made the journey from Nauvoo, Illinois to the Salt Lake Valley prior to the Willie and Martin companies. When not furthering her musical skill, Krista enjoys reading, taking care of plants, both indoor and out, camping, and spending time with her husband and three daughters.
